Default Taking a year out

Hi everyone

I have made the very difficult decision to take a year out and complete my 3rd year next year. The decision is set against a backdrop of some incredibly difficult, sad personal matters that have spanned the last 18 months. Everything came to a head recently and left me with my 3rd serious asthma attack this year due to the stress. As I sat in A&E for the third time this year struggling to breathe, I thought that something has to give.

I am very lucky in having a great Uni, tutor and course leader who have supported me and my decision and also a very supportive partner, family and friends to help me through.

One of the decisions to start this site was to distract me from the personal stuff that was going on and it is a great therapy.

I will of course continue to work on and build the site and cant think of a better way to keep my interest and passion for midwifery alive over the next 9 months. I feel that I can now take the time I need to get back on track and will return to the course refreshed, rejuvinated and more knowledgable, as I research midwifery matters for the site!

I will return to complete my final year in Sept 08, its a little later than I had planned but I will still achieve my dream

TallPoppy

TallPoppy, big brave decision to make, and well done to you for deciding, it seems quite wisely to take a year out, and get back to basics and understand whats going on in the world and get on top of it all again, sorry to here its been a bad time for you lately, I don't know how you've gone back to uni with whatever it all was, and then managed to set this site up aswell, just goes to show how very strong and positive you are, good luck with all you do, have a lovely relaxing wind down christmas, don't let the stress get to you xxx
