SMNET Training Day :: Interview Skills & much more, Cardiff University, 15th Feb 2010

We are delighted to confirm that we will be holding a full days training on Preparing for Interview for prospective student midwives, at Cardiff University on 15th February.

The day will be led by myself and Principal HR & Employment Law Consultant Annie, and you will meet guest stars RainbowGoddess (Year 2 student midwife) and Growlie (Year 1 student midwife) and we also have some fabulous registered midwives who will be coming along to support, guide and answer any questions you may have.

The day will include;

• A mock interview with an HR consultant and a Registered Midwife :: with same day feedback and personal development plan
• Tests and tasks
• How to effectively prepare for interview to get ahead of the competition
• The role of the midwife
• Pillars of the profession exploring NMC, NICE & RCM

.......... and lots more!

We will also have lots of 'kit' for you to get hands on - so you can practice your LOA's and LOP's with our baby and pelvis, fiddle with tourniquets, check out blood bottles, tap your first sphyg (we've all done it), take each others BP and lots more.

Our students and midwives will be available to answer any questions and the wonderful folks at Elsevier are sending us a box of midwifery course books for you to peruse. The wonderful people at The Practising Midwife and the British Journal of Midwifery are also sending me copies to give away on the day. The midwives are all ready with kit in hand ready to show you the tools used in practice and our very darling RG has even offered up her gorgeous baby bump so you can have a go a palpation and listening in


So, if you'd like to experience a real life midwifery interview (and tests) before the big day, prepare effectively, meet current students and practising midwives as well as getting your hands on some midwifery kit and checking out the latest midwifery books then PM Annie who will provide you with the finer details.

There will be a fee attached to the training as we have to cover our costs.

We only have space for 10 people to attend so grab your place asap!
