Default Bursary/CRB and Medical Forms - worried!

Helllooo!

Well I am in a bit of a panic here because I have my student loan form, CRB form, bursary form and medical form to fill in. The thing is I get married 2nd week in July so my surname will obviously change so I can't fill out any forms until I get my marriage certificate otherwise nothing will match up come September.

I will fill the forms in ready so I can post my marriage cert off literally the day after I get married and I suppose the first one will be the CRB form but I wont be able to send my bursary form off until the CRB returns my marriage cert and I am just worried that there is now going to be a massive delay on everything.

I have spoken to the bursary people and they said not to send off until I have marriage cert and I have rang student info office at my uni and they did say it was pushing it a bit but it should be ok but I am still panicking.

Has anyone else been a similar situation who can put my mind at rest? I have so much to think about at the moment and I feel like my head is going to explode!

xx

When I have done various CRB forms they have taken a copy of my documents, You do need to have a 'registered' person to do this though ? Is there no way you can ask uni if there is someone available to verify your documents and then you can send them over to bursary peeps ??

Do you get you marriage certificate the day you get married?

We didn't get ours for 12 weeks??? (although we got married abroad)

I'd check this to be Sure.

Congratulations and good luck for the wedding!

Yeah, getting the documents verified is an idea - still means I am not sending my forms out until probably the 3rd week of July though

I think we will get our marriage certificate the day we get married but I am going to double check that - I am sure someone has told me you get it same day though?

I got my marriage cert on the day I got married as the registrar was there to witness and all signatures get done during the ceremony, so no reason not to get it there and then.

hi i got my marriage cert the day we got married (church wedding).

just wondering can you not just send off your CRB form (in your current name) before you get married, i mean you're still the same person! I've been married 5 years and i still haven't changed my passport or driving licence lol!!

I got married in the registry office in Bristol and we got the certificate the same day, all the officiants signed it and we took it away. I would do as mamamerabel says and send off your CRB form now, if there is any query after then you can back it up with a marriage cert, may make it easier for you. Good luck x

hi there, congratulations on your forthcoming wedding! I have done casual registrar work for the last 7 years (basically registering weddings - completing marriage certificates, the marriage register etc) and you should definitely get your marriage certificate the same day. Most couples need it to take away on honeymoon. I know that we will always provide more than one certificate if a couple request it (at a cost of £3.50 per certificate) if you needed more than one to send off with forms etc this may be an option? Good luck with your wedding - hope it all goes well for you xxx

Thanks for the replies ladies - feeling a bit better about it all. Just getting a bit overwhelmed with all I have on at the moment so things that are probably trivial seem huuuage to me!

smhunt - Why didn't I think about that!! Of course, I can request another copy so I can have two marriage certs - d'oh I feel so stupid now!

mamamerabel - I don't think it would be good idea for me to do CRB before I get married because I would just worry that it would cause all sorts of confusion when I start uni as my papers wouldn't match up - however, saying that, I am going to ring the uni and ask if it is possible for me to just do it now and provide a copy of marriage cert when I start uni...? - I rang student recruitment and the woman on the phone said to wait to do my CRB - that was the other day - however, I think I need to speak to the person who actual deals with CRBs because that lady didn't sound too sure about the whole process to be honest.

I'll let you know what the uni says

High there.... and a big congrats on your forth coming wdding..... just out of interest and it is only a thought. and an alternitive.fill in your forms and get them off using your maiden name, its not illegal to use your maiden name when you gert married. when you start the course and have all your paper work back you can change your surname via university change of detail forms. hope it was of some use. good luckxxxxx
