Default Student Midwife.NET virgin

Hi everybody,
I have just joined the gang and am thrilled to be part of Student Midwife.NET. I have two young girls of 2 and 4 and have only applied to one Uni - Cumbria (I live in Carlisle). I have an interview on the 9th January - here's hoping! I have never been a part of anything like this so it is all new to me but I hope to learn a lot from all of you old timers!!!!!! I have done quite a lot of preparation for my interview but would appreciate any tips. It is the first year that Cumbria is doing the direct entry Midwifery so there is nobody I can speak to who is already on the course.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi and welcome to the site.

The only advice I can give you is...try to relax (sooo hard I know) be yourself as that is who they want to see, and try to enjoy the experience.

Good luck and keep us posted about how it went.

Hi

Welcome aboard

As midewifemissy said be yourself and try and relax.

Research the role of the midwife and let them see how passionate you are about midwifery. Also let them know you have a good support network because they may want to know how you will cope with the course and family life. I got asked this question.

Good luck xx

Thank you all for your support and encouragement - of course, I will let you know how it goes. I kind of believe in fate - if it is meant to be, it will be! Whether I can relax, I do not know - I start getting palpitations when I think about it and it is still a week off! And breath!!!!!

I think it is because I have only one chance - I haven't been able to put a few choices down as I can't relocate at present so I have only one shot at it! I have been working towards this end goal for two years now and I feel so much depends on it!
Where are you starting in Jan Groovychick?
