Default New to the site!

Hiya everyone, Im Deanna.
Just found this site and it looks great!
Just wondered if anybody could help me with my midwifery interview?
I had an interview at Cumbria a few weeks ago but I was unsuccessful
I am 18 years old and I dont know if this affects my application as I havent had many life experiences.
I have 2 more interviews left so could anybody please help me on what I should do to prepare and how I can convince them that this is what I want to do
Thanks

Hi Deanna,

Welcome to the site, sorry your first interview wasn't very successful, I am sure it has nothing to do with your age.

There is lots of helpful information here about preparing for interviews, and lots of others in the same position. Have a good look round the site and I am sure you will pick up lots of helpful tips for your next interviews.

Good luck.

Hi Deanna, welcome to the site

i was unsucessful on my first time around - didn't even get an interview, and I've been qualified over two years now. Could you phone the department where you were interviewed and ask for some feedback. Either they may be able to give you some advice which will help with your other interviews - or it may be that your interview was fine but they had lots of good applicants and just had to choose

Hi and welcome!!

There is a lot of information on here and I found it really useful when I went for my interview. I always say this but I'll have to say it again, do as many mock interviews as you can so that you can try and combat nerves but also so that you can come across as someone who is passionate about midwifery. Getting feedback from your first interview will be good because at least you can change things if anything was negative.

Wishing you lots of luck for your interviews.

Hi Deanna, welcome to the site.

Sorry your first attempt was unsuccessful, just because you don't have much life experience doesn't mean you aren't a worthy candidate!

The interview is hard and you need to express your understanding of the midwives role well. It is difficult as you need to sell yourself and portray a passion for all things midwifery, without being too OTT.

Request feedback from the uni, and have a look around the site for interview tips, there is plenty here to help.

Best of luck for your forthcoming interviews, plenty of support here from all of us if you want it, so ask away!!
