Talking Hi

Hi guys

I'm Sam and started my midwifery course in January, as from the 26th of March I will be out on placement in the community!!!!!! I am loving all the new challenges, which are especially difficult as trying to run family as normal also. As we say at my uni, I am only a white belt student midwife at present but am very keen to progress to the next level!!

hi sammie
welcome to the site and to the world of midwifery! I hope you are enjoying your course so far and are not too freaked out by the amount of work yet?
I'm sure you will love community. it is a nice gentle way into placements, getting to see lots of 'normal' and hopefully getting some witnesses and some hands on as well, depending on how busy your area is. Its a good way to prepare you for the drama of the labour ward later on!
best of luck with it all
x

Work not too bad as yet, but you always feel that perhaps you should be doing more!
Looking forward to community emensley but would be lying if I didnt say I was nervous about the prospect of practicing on these women.
Thanks for your comment
Sammy

Hi Sammy, welcome to the site.

There is loads of info on here for you.

Enjoy community placement. We have been back out for two weeks and despite the quiet, it has been lovely to see the women and their babies and the relationships with their midwives.

Keep us posted
