Hi Kimberley! Welcome to the site and believe me the time between now and applying for uni will FLY... There is loads of useful info on this site for reading, personal statements etc the will be great help! I would recommend subscribing to the practising midwife as I got asked in my interviews what journals I had read.

Hi Kimberley... sorry I didn't answer last night - we had a leak thru the kitchen ceiling that needed sorting!

I didn't have much before applying to be honest so am really shocked that I got in first time round! I have 10 years of experience working in call centres (nothing care related - banking!) and I got in touch with my local hospital to arrange some work experience - I did 1 week in Feb on antenatal ward and I have 1 week with the community midwives coming up... other than this I have my access course which i am due to finish at the end of June. I made a big deal about the transferrable communication skills from working in call centres on my personal statement and also about the big obsession i have with biology!

I think you will be fine with what you have and I hope to see you at Bradford next year - I could be your mentor!

Donna
