Newbie - Waiting to start!!

Hi, just wanted to introduce myself, Im Jules mother of 3 very energetic young boys 15, 13 and 7. I am waiting to start at Huddersfield sept 2008!

Ive wanted to be a midwife since having my first son 15 years ago (is it really that long!) I have spent the last 8 years running a business with my OH and at the beginining of last year decided now was the time before I get to old! Found i did'nt have enough current qualifications so applied to Huddersfield uni for the Foundation Course for Health Proffessionals a 1 year FT course which if you pass at 65% you go directly onto your chosen degree pathway.

To cut a long story short did the course and passed, phew the course was hard but fantastic and i would recommend it to anyone wanting to go on to nursing or midwifery. And now I am just waiting to start.....feeling nervous and excited all in one!!

I was interesting in doing that course at Hudds if i didnt get into uni, but i got into Bradford so there was no need. I was told that the course was hard though so im sure if you passed that then you will be fine on the degree course.

Thanks, Fingers and toes crossed I will be ok. Did look at going to Bradford (was going to do an access course) but then came across the foundation course at hudds. The course is hard but I think it does a good job at setting you up for some parts of the degree, plus you get to know some of the degree lecturers which is helpfull. Wont stop me have a tummy full of butterflies on the first day though!!
