Hello People

Hi everyone!!

I am interested in applying to do midwifery, but I dont have good grades in maths and science. i may have to do the access course or retake my maths/science gcse's.

I currently work in a antenatal department at KCH as a midwifery assistant, where i sort out antenatal patients results, appointments and other stuff the midwives bombard me with.

i cant wait o start on the degree, scared too!!!!

I hope the journey we are all taking we shall all get there.

Hiya my love ;0) A big warm welcome to you. Glad you found this site cos it will be such a valuable source of information and support for you. I, like yourself, do not have the qualification for the course so I am taking an access course, not the access to midwifery course, and doing my maths, english language and human biology. Scary stuff but will be worth it in the end; fingers crossed!!!! Great that you have experience working within the midwifery environment that is one feather in your cap. At least in an interview they will know that you are going in with your eyes wide open and that you don't have some unrealistic rosey expectations of what its all about. Sounds like you certainly have the midwifery experience sorted so you have an advantage, why not phone/email your nearest uni's and find out what they need with regards to qualifications
