New NHS bursary awards: One small step for student midwives…with many more to goThe Royal College of Midwives (RCM) has welcomed the introduction of the new maternity and adoption awards for healthcare students. Under the new scheme, starting this month, students wishing to adopt a child will be able to take a 45 week break from their studies and continue to receive their bursary payments, whilst students whose partners have just given birth will be entitled to four weeks.
