Child health grant won’t work without midwives

The General Secretary of the Royal College of Midwives today accused the government of “rank hypocrisy” as it unveiled its plans to introduce the ‘child health grant’, whilst axing bursaries for trainee midwives and removing midwifery from the Home Office Shortage Occupation List (HOSOL) for fast track employment.
