Midwives not getting jobs wastes taxpayers' moneyResponding to the figures released by the Liberal Democrats today on the number of midwives unable to find jobs after qualification, Louise Silverton, Deputy General Secretary of the Royal College of Midwives, said: "Workforce planning around midwife numbers has been a rollercoaster ride of peaks and troughs, and not planning for the future or learning from the past.
