Isn't it sad though how we live our life for the society around us.

We all do it. I hate been fat! But why? My husband loves me loads, my kids love me, my family loves me. Yet I hate myself and it's simply because of how I'm viewed within society. People talk to me as though I'm thick, just because I'm fat and I know this is the same for many other larger ladies.

If your blonde, your thick (not that I think so), if your a teenage mum, your a scrounger, if your gay, your a perve/freak, if you look different, your weired........................ The list just goes on.

It gets me so mad (incase you'd not guessed) that we have to life our life to please the people around us otherwise we are stigmatised and laughed at!!!!

Sorry for the rant, I'll go and breath now!

I agree it is very sad, and one reason why the suicide rate is so high. I can't understand why we can't all just live and let live, judge people (if we have to) on how they treat us and not on how they look etc.

Hmm, this is such an interesting topic, and after reading it on here this morningI then saw it int he Sun at work and we were discusssing it.
My friend raised an interesting topic that Josie and Sassy also commented on; that if he has chosen to become a man, he surely couldnt give it up that easily, or as she put it; 'you can't have your cake and eat it!'
I can understand that they really wish to have a child, start a family and raise a beautiful person, but there are many other routes, they could have fostered or adopted, as many couples who cannot concieve have to do!
I do think the child will live a 'postcard' life as you mention Josie, but at the same time, something like that may come out eventually, even if its when shes 13 and decided to Google her mum/dad!!
I think its very interesting to read/see how different societies are reacting to it, and am curious about the neighbour who says its a hoax!

I agree, us PCOS gals arent ever gonna be skinny (if we've got the fat end of PCOS that is) and I cant bare any kind of discrimination, I mean jeeezzz we're all doing our best in this life and dealing with mountains of cr*p of our own so why turn against oneanother? thats the bit I dont get.... why cant ppl just be kind? makes for a much nicer world.

It's a sad but true fact!!
Society as it is now, and will prbably progress as she gets older, won't let it be something she never hears about!
Im sure they will be fantastic parents but there's no way that this won't affect her life!
