Hi Groovychick,

As I understand it the NMC is the regulating body of nursing and midwifery, you have to register with them when you qualify before you can practice, and pay for that privilage too.

You get a pin number when you qualify, and are placed on a register, if you don't send them your details you aren't able to practice. You have to re-register, not sure if it is every year or longer than that, but I am sure someone else will know.

I'm sure it's yearly registrartion, and I believe it's about £35 a year.

I thought it was, but wasn't 100% sure, I thought I remembered my daughter having to re-register a year after she qualified.

Yes you do have to register, when you start uni, your details are all given to the NMC, one of your tutors at uni, will be the "sign off" tutor, who will allow you to qualify, and join the register, then you get your "pin" it cost £80 a year now I think, most trusts once you are working tend to allow you to claim a percentage back through your wages.
