Default Proof readers!

I don't know what J ™ or any other of the moderators think but I was wondering if anyone would be interested in proof reading for each other?

It's a tricky area I know, as it raises plagiarism (sp) etc. I was thinking if people wanted to proof read essays etc that it is at a lower level than they are.
For instance, myself as a first year could proof read essays for access courses or A levels,
2nd year midwives proof read for 1st year midwives,
3rd year midwives for for second years and
qualified midwives read for 3rd years

Phew, that took some getting out.

What do people think? I would be more than happy to proof read for others and would also use a proof reader myself

I just think sometimes, people can give good constructive critisism that will help fellow frazzled students

I think that's a fab idea sassy! Altho the only people I could proof read for at the mo would be anyone sitting their GCSE's...or maybe the 11+ SATS!! lol!

Would be happy to help anyone doing the access course over 2 years as I'll be finished next month

I love proof reading - I have just helped a friend to get her dissertation up to scratch by rewording some areas to a more 'academic' style and reducing her word count by several hundred words in the process - which she needed.

Sometimes, you know what you want to say, but lack the vocabulary to condense it down. I happen to have a knack of being able to do this, so apart from grammer, I am always willing to help reduce word counts.

I could do with that too Kentish Spitfire. I have just had to write a very, very short essay about the physiology of the first stage of labour. I've gone over my word count and still need to add to my conclusion!!! Very annoying!
