Sociology and psychology essay!!

I'm in the middle of a sociology and psychology essay, but am struggling with things to write for the psychology bit and the midwife's role in it? Also have a few social policies relevant to midwifes, but have been told I need more!! Does anyone have any ideas??! I would be most grateful if you did as my brain seems to have stopped working!!

what exactly is the essay about, and what bit of psychology/midwives role are you stuck on. Might be able to help a bit but need you to narrow it down a bit!

We have to follow two ladies during their pregnancy and discuss psychology and sociology to do with one of them. I was going to discuss psychology of a third degree tear as one of the ladies had that, but wasn't sure whether there were any general topics to be covered. Sorry i'm not making much sense!!
Sociology I think is to do with the family support etc, and i'm looking at a few social polices which affect midwives like women claiming maternity benefits, smoking cessation. I can't think of anymore, am not sure where else to go with both!!

If you are meant to just cover pregnancy, then don't include third degree tear, because that would be labour.
Do you mean psychology or physiology? The psychology of pregnancy would include things like how the woman adapted to pregnancy, her feelings / worries / how she feels about the baby etc. Sociology would include her support networks and any needs, ie. single parent, low income.
Does that make sense?
