We never did IPL, well a week as an introduction to the course, we had 3 sessions together and that was it, odd how uni's are so different x

oh Camilan, i really sympathise with you!
The SPL was actually quite useful and set us up well for academic uni life i think.
A year on, and I still can't see the point of PSA!! Our little group was terrible, and we ended up having a HUGE row. I was so hacked off with being the only one that bothered each week! Be warned, you stay with your seminar IPL group for the whole of the three years though, so a year on, ours still has a lovely icy atmosphere week in week out and we never want to sit anywhere near each other!!

Ohhhhh yeah PSA theres three of us left from our group of 6 for our final hehehe. Just had a message pop up saying I havent been on here for two weeks. Its due to a useless PSA assignment, a SPL assignment that still doesnt make sense and my Midwifery assignment which seems to be going well. Although we get on with a three. Just a small group

Oh and what a darling little module it is!!!! I hated it at first but now i don't mind it. Probably more down to the fact that we were all put into new groups and mine is now a really lovely one!

2 more weeks until our final trigger! We're quite well organised for it so fingers crossed! Olly what are the next semesters IPL modules like please? Am a wee bit nervous about them!

TraceyB cutting long story short we are given a trigger of say " mrs f lives in a high rise flat with her three children and is unemployed. Her partner lives away from home for long periods of time due to work commitments." We then have to consider the psycho social aspects that could influence and affect her behaviour, health and future dreams.

Hope that helps x

mmm, just trying to remember....
think you have person centred care next? Does that sound right? It's ok, some weeks are better than others. The essay can be really midwifery related by talking about woman centred care instead of person centred care, and isn't too hard as there is SO much research about it that you can draw on.

and also Introduction to the Human body, which although it is an IPL module you were probably only learn with the midwives. The teachers for the module are great and really make it user friendly. You have an exam at the end of it, but loads of practice papers all the way through so no big suprises!

good luck!
