Default Interprofessional Learning

Well it's Thursday, the day of the week i dread when i'm in uni!

It's interprofessional learning day!!!! YAY!!!!

The morning is SPL (skills for professional learning), now this isn't too bad and i have learnt a fair bit on how to research topics and we are in an all Midwife group!

This afternoon is Psychosocial aspects of care and i don't like it!!!! We are put into small groups one midwife 3 or 4 nurses and we get a trigger. Last time it was Margaret and by the time we finished with her i hated her! lol. This time we have Steve! Poor Steve. I'm sure these lessons are for a reason but i really can't see it. Can someone enlighten me please???? Has anyone found this particular lesson of any help? Or even enjoyed it? It probably didn't help that i didn't particularly like the other people in my last group! Chav central! Apart from me of course!!! And one other girl was ok if not a wee bit over eager and probably had a whole tree of info before we even started!!!! Oh i really should make a move i suppose! I'd be interested to see how others found IPL days and how you coped with them!

Wish me luck and think of me today.............lol!

Guess you'll be in uni now then?

Thinking of you, I didn't like it much either, but these modules do set you thinking, and I did enjoy the essay in the end!

Our group weren't the best either, hey ho!!

hiya ive just completed my IPL we had it for 9 weeks and had to do a poster presentation at the end.

i enjoyed it for a bit then some of the group lost the whole concept of what IPL is all about.

IPL is about communication between health professionals it came about due to the Victoria Climbie case and gives you an insight into othet health prodessions.

thinking of you and hope it all goes well

It was okay really. Our team worked really well together (we did have a wee fall out over the practice one tho!!)

We got good marks for it, 75% I think. It was stressful, but we had sweets to keep us going!

Have you done your practice trigger and poster yet? That really helped our group to focus on what we'd have to do. Hope you do well, I am sure you will, let me know how you get on?

We got our trigger for our practice poster yesterday. It does seem a bit clearer but Steve is trickier than Margaret!!! A 19yr old living with his 25yr old girlfriend with her 2 kids from a previous relationship (age 10 n 8) and their 1yr old! No job, gave up his training course, trying to find employment but can't. Live in a flat on a large estate. That's it! ARGH!!! The tutor we have for it is lovely, think she is your cohort leader, RW?

Will let you know how i get on! Think it will be a lot better with the new group i'm in the other one was awful but at least it has given me a good base to start my group dynamics essay!

And Groovychick.........how did you manage not having to do this module???? I may transfer to Keele lol!! Ahhhhhhhhhh just seen that you done it before!!! That'll teach me to read more thoroughly lol!!!
