blimey

Ermmm... education? she has researched a great deal?

Previous interest, maybe she is a masseuse or a homeopath etc?

previous medicalised experience?

media influence

peer influence

antenatal/postnatal social group or NCT/ privately run and organised one?

fear of hospitals?

Does that help? is this what you mean? or is this all pants? (probably...)

Wanting as natural a birth as possible with no use of pharmacological drugs.

Had a previous history of not liking previous method or methods used.

Not sure if these are any help, all I can think of to add to what smwife has put, but if I think of any others I will add them to the list.

Interesting though don't you think? I assume it'll help you in practice too. Hard to get started but I bet once you get into it you wont want to stop!!

My sister in law chose hypnobirthing for her first birth, would you like me to ask her why she chose it?

Throughout the ages, the rainbow has been the symbol of hope, a promise of better things to come. The ancient Greeks personified the rainbow as the goddess Iris, the favourite handmaiden and messenger of Hera, the queen of the heavenly court of Olympus. Carried by her shimmering wings, Iris travels so swiftly that mortals can see only the trail of her rainbow-coloured passage across the sky.
