Default Reflection on Primary PPH

Hi there!

I am writing a 2000 word reflection on a lady i cared for who had a PPH following delivery of 1500ml however im stuck!!

I am having no luck on finding primary research on the management of the PPH in this case which was 2 syntometrine IM, contraction rubbed up, then syntocinon infusion and repair of nasty 2nd degree tear.

My brain is just not working i can't work out where to begin, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks.

I have no idea about research, but my mentor taught me a good little ermm wats the word 'saying' i suppose to remember what to look for with PPH's.. The 4 T's... Tone, Trauma, Tissue, Thrombin..
Tone - Uterus tone..
Trauma - to the cervix or perineum
Tissue - Placenta or retained products
Thrombin - The womans ability to clot

can you start with your local trust guidelines? They should have a further list of references of primary research that you can look at.
ours says:

call for help!!
rub up a contraction
ergometrine iv
cannulate
take bloods - clotting, fbc, group and save for crossmatch
maternal obs

Have a look at the ALSO or RCOG guidelines and CEMACH for the recommendations, also what they taught you in class and where they got the evidence from, but otherwise the WHO and FIGO any af the articles about PPH in BJM BMJ all have the same written as its pretty much standardized, whichever articles your uni subscribes to online, just put in PPH as a search and it will give you loads of info!! I did my dissertation around the topic, and there is loads out there.
