Hmmm.... see what you mean!

I can find loads on class and education and epidurals/sections etc but not a bean on non pharma methods.

Will keep trekking!

Could you not use the exact opposite of why they WOULD choose pharm methods?

Good idea, what about the NCT they might have stuff, or homeopathy sites, if they have to pay, put your own slant on the assignment stating how difficult it may be if they dont have access to internet, midiwfe doesnt suggest any of it, they cant afford to pay etc.. in your assignment state how difficult it is to find essential info on it and how it seems tailored to a more educated higher social class status etc..

we cant do it that way although that is a really good idea

we have been told we have to discuss what influences her choice to why she wanted non pharmo methods

does that make sense

I agree with Tb, the NCT is a good place to look for advice on non pharma choices. Id say influences are things like media - i.e. Ricky lake having a homebirth with no drugs has influenced others to do the same - like Charlotte Church did etc. Other influences are what their sisters, mums, friends had. Also cutural influences and religion. For me her choices would be her personal beliefs coupled with the influences around her.

She may have a previous history of using pharma's and wanted to do it differently this time - Ive had women say that alot.

As for literature I cant find anything that gives any stats or even ethnographic views etc... would be great if someone can find some as Im really interested now!
