Ummm... Ours is really full on until about Jan - for the september intake. Exams whilst on placement and all that - though it chilled right off then for a couple of months. Standard wise - from what I can tell on the few that I've had marked so far I would say an A'level B grade essay would get you about 46-52% on an essay at level one - the first year...

Hope that helps??

It is a big jump up from A levels, but you start at level 1 and move up a level each year until level 3. I did my access course getting mainly B's and B+'s, and have averaged around 60% for my degree.

You get lots of help and advice and the marks in year one, usually don't count towards your final mark, so look on the first years assignments as a practise and an opportunity to learn what they want.

I didn't find it a massive jump to be honest, and the amount of work isn't huge - its just doing it whilst out on placement I find difficult! Organisation is so important, it really helps to have some sort of system. I have discovered that after lessons such as A&P if you summarise onto index cards it helps a lot when revising.

Good luck with the course!

I went straight from A-levels to doing the course and as far as i could tell it wasn't as much hard work- but then i did do 5, and this is something i've always wanted to do and find it infinately interesting!!

Just balancing full time hours and assignments can be rough, but planning and time management is important. But your first year is kind of a 'practice' year for assignments and placement, and by the time you get to year 2 you will be a pro!!

good luck xxxxx

never did A-levels so? but compared to access it is harder but not much to start. It is writing in a different way with many specifications that for me has been hard.

We atarted at level one and are now doing level 2, it is harder but in a different way again as we have had a practice year! I'd say the biggest thing is they are not so generous with their marks so expect to get aorund 20% less than doing access, maybe also A-levels
