Default EDPL.................then that's it for semester 1!

Just one more assignment to do! And that's my EDPL. Oh and my apt. Can't believe the date for handing in our apt is on our last day in placement! Whose idea was that!!!!!

Quick question, is there any difference between the edpl and a normal reflection??? Am gonna struggle to stay in the word limit, 1500 is just not enough!!!!

well done Cami!
I usually use Gibbs or something similar for the 3000 word essays and the edpl one which is shorter, I use a shorter reflective cycle! Something like Borton's
hth?

Ahhhhh will look at Bortons. That's what i find difficult, if you follow Gibb's it really restricts your words. We've been told to use Gibb's on all our assignments so far so was just thinking Gibb's!!!

LOL
sometimes i think midwifery is like a secret code!!
EDPL is how our uni assess what we have learnt on placement, it stands for Evidence to Demonstrate Practice Learning. It is usually a reflective essay on something that you have encountered on placement.
Gibbs and Borton are names of people who have developed reflective cycles.
hth means hope that helps!!

TallPoppy and smwife have produced a brilliant studyguide that explain reflective cycles amongst other things.
