Default Help!

Couple of things... This year I have to do a dissertation, a seminar, an assignment on the neonate and a seen exam..

I obviously can't start revising for the exam until I've seen the question...

And have already started planning my dissertation on time limits in the active first stage of labour for low risk primps...

BUT...

I have NO idea what to do my seminar on... It can be literally ANYTHING... Anyone have any ideas of something interesting that I could do it on?? Needs to be something that is well researched else the lecturer will say no! (I did ask to do about twin waterbirths but got a no! )

Also have no idea what to do my neonate assignment on... Needs to be something that the midwife cares for so nothing that SCBU and NNI unit stuff... The question is the role of the midwife when caring for a *** neonate... Can be anything again... Any ideas?!! I'm completely stuck on this one... Don't want to do Jaundice or LBW because its been done to death in the past!!

Anyone have any ideas, research or references that could start me on my way?!

Can you do these things about really rare stuff? I saw a programme on (Irish) tv there a couple of weeks ago about a set of triplets that didn't separate properly in the womb. So that when they were born there were two babies, but one was born with the head of the third baby attached to its own and its heart was pumping blood to its own organs as well as the brain of this other child (the other child was not developed below the neck). It was so sad as this other child had a fully functioning brain and could cry, sleep, etc separate to the first child. In the end the parents had to make the heart breaking decision of separating the two babies as the heart couldn't take the pressure of supporting two brains and therefore the other child died in this surgery. Sorry that wasn't explained very technically. I'll see if I can find any link if that's of any interest? Not sure if it's really to do with midwifery.
