Default Re: bursary and loan application forms

Hi there, and thanks so much for your helpful information.

Just got another couple of questions from that, if you don't mind me asking?

Even though my children are 18 and 16, am I still entitled to claim an allowance for them?
And with the PN1 form, wouldn't I have to complete the means tested part if I am doing the degree? Do I have to complete the PN1 form - I didn't really want to apply for a loan, but then I was sort of told to do it anyway just in case I ever needed it

Sorry if I sound a bit dumb, but just finding it all a bit confusing at the moment, I am sure once I have done it it will all make perfect sense!

If you are receiving child benefit for them and they do not have their own income, yes I would. Not entirely sure what the likelihood of you getting paid for them though tbh. I would try anyway, or maybe contact hem directly and ask?

The means tested part of the loan would not be applicable if you are receiving a bursary. You are only eligible for the standard amount (around £2,500)

No, you are not dumb at all, it is very confusing and it seems different areas have different criteria too. Having done the bursary and student loan forms twice, I can say it doesn't get alot easier with practice!
