They are generally automatically sent out to you when the uni lets them know of your place, can be between May and July.
I think you can apply for a student loan from now though.

You may need to send off for one or download it from the website, contact your uni to ask when it needs to be sent off though.

We ended up downloading ours, each year the renewal pack will come through the post.

Student loans can be done well in advance. A PN1 from I think, don't forget you need to renew that for every academic year, I forgot!!!

Good luck with it, it's very confusing

I've applied online for my loan. Just need the identity bit signing.. shame I have no one other than college to sign it! Not known anyone else long enough to do it... will have to send it into college when they come back

I was told by NHS Student grants that they would send me the correct application form for my bursary once the university had sent them my details. At the moment, they haven't got me on their records but said that I may not get them until 6-8 weeks before I start.

The other thing that is confusing me is that my local education authority has given me forms to fill in for a means-tested bursary (I think) or would that just be a student loan application form? Can anyone enlighten me?

your local authority would have given you a student loan form...there the PN1 forms. You do get some kind of bursary from the student loan company though if you have children etc But You get your main bursary from the nhs...i think!

That would be for the student loan, there is a means and non means tested part, you can basically ignore the means tested bit and just fill out the non means tested.
