| You should be entitled though you'll need to send a copy of your bursary outline to prove your NHS entitlement.

| Roo, have finally got round to looking at Alan Johnson directgov link. It took me ages to work out if i could get a student loan, but i still think the answer is no!! How to apply for student finance 1. Can you apply for a student loan if you have previously studied in higher education? If you have previously studied in higher education, you may be eligible to apply for a loan for general maintenance but not to cover tuition fees for your course. Your local authority will tell you if you are eligible to apply for a loan again. my LEA said that i wasnt entitled, so i was just wondering if your friend has a specific link to the bit in the education act that you were talking about that i quote to them to make them change their minds??!! have had a look online, but all i can find applies to scotland only. Is your friend scottish by any chance?! or did she manage to get some money and live in england? here's hoping x

| Hi, I emailed my local LEA who replied and confirmed that even though i have already had three years worth of student loans, i will still be entitled to a reduced rate maintenance loan as it is a health course that i will be studying. Thats a huge weight of my shoulders! Have just got to try and save like made until I start in Sep 2009 to make up for the non existant bursary!

| If you have a honours degree you not entitled to any student loans unless you are studying medicine, etc .However you can still apply for dependants grant eg. childcare or DSA. If you have a non honours degree then you can still apply for a student loan , however this will a basic loan, You will not be allowed help for tuition fees or a maintance grant. hope that helps |
