Default Student Loan for 2008

I have just received a letter saying I have been awarded £2076 student loan for my first year.

What has other people got if you dont mind me asking?

That sounds right emily moo. As burseried students we get about 50% of the normal student loan.

£1700 I would love more haha, if you don't mind me asking, was that income assessed?

Also, I wondered if anyone can tell me the amount of bursary people get which is like average? I only ask as I am struggling to believe I can cope if I have to give up my job as I have a few debts lol

If you go on the link it will give a estimate of what bursery you will get. I've found it fairly accurate.

Also, uni will have forms available for you to apply for a grant once your there. It is income assesed, but they take into account debts etc. it's worth filling in as you never know unless you try

Iv not yet been able to apply for mine as im still waiting for confirmation details from SHU iv contacted them and they said the details will be sent soon, so all i have so far is the UCAS letter confirming my place. Im under the impression i need something from the uni with my unique student number before i can apply is this correct? or is there someway i can apply before? any help will be much appreciated!

can i ask if you are living with your parents or in your own home/un accomodation? i beleive this makes a difference

the unique student number is to apply for the bursary, you can apply for the loan NOW

Yeah I am living at home which must mean I get less! I know you get more when you live by yourself or in London, so I guess it must explain why I get what I will!
