Default Travel expenses

Recommendations for travel expenses. I would certainly recommend that you try to claim for any out of pocket expenses even if your university or indeed the student bursaries department say that you are not entitled.

I was told all of last year that I was NOT entitled to any travel expenses what-so-ever. However at the beginning of this year I was told by the same student bursary department that I was indeed entitled to claim travel expenses!!!!

OK so with this knowledge in hand, I put in my nine months, yes NINE months, worth of travel expense claim forms into the bursary people and get this.............................................. .........

OoOoOoOoooh the lovely people at the Student Bursary place have just sent me a letter telling me that, get this....................................

That YES I AM entitled to my travel expenses from last year and that, get this......................................

That they will pay £995 into my bank account on Friday, followed by, get this.....................................

A further £235 shortly thereafter!!!!!!!!

HAPPY DAYS

oooh you lucky so and so, did you know not only do you claim them for the mileage difference (ie past the normal miles you do to uni) but they pay the full fare, girl in ours didn't know until 3rd year and they let her claim 2 years worth back, I get buggar all but there you go, don't mind telling others these tips of info, so when your claiming mileage, put the full journey down, not just the excess that you travel beyond uni x

That was the whole issue T, because it's 120 mile round trip to uni, (my choice as I pick up another girl on the way, if I didn't it would only be about 95-100), anyway, to my placement it is approx 70 mile round trip.

I was told that as it was shorter I couldn't claim!!! Only this year they told me that if it costs more to get to placement than it does to uni that I could claim, so there you go, I'm £1230 better off this xmas!!!

HAPPY DAYS !!!!

I could technically claim my travel expenses.. As to uni it's 2miles and to the hospital its abot 2.5miles.. But I'm to lazy! lol..Wouldn't work out as very much anyways!
I claim when I have to go on community though, cause i've been placed at a base thats 22miles away!

I can't believe you've been placed 22 miles away-no need, claim back the lot its the only time you'll ever be able to x
