| The Royal College of Midwives (RCM) has welcomed the introduction of the new maternity and adoption awards for healthcare students. Under the new scheme, starting this month, students wishing to adopt a child will be able to take a 45 week break from their studies and continue to receive their bursary payments, whilst students whose partners have just given birth will be entitled to four weeks. | Yay! Thats more like it! This builds on the relatively new right that we have of 6 months maternity leave and pay so now we get adoption leave and pay, and quite right too!
