I asked someone in admissions at Worcester if i needed recent study but she said i just needed to get some hands-on care work experience which i am trying to do.
Any ideas anyone?
I'm pretty sure Freefall is correct. Most unis expect study within the last 3-5 years. The more recent the better. I think your best bet is to apply for an Access or OU course and then use your tutor for that as your referee. 16 years is a VERY long time to be out of education.

Probably.. or even a short OU course as you'd already fit entry requirements with a degree (if you have GCSE Maths and English)... If you don't, then they would be ideal to do for recent study plus you need em

I already had a degree before I did midwifery, but wasn't sure if they'd want evidence of more recent study, so I did a sociology A level at evening classes. If you're considering doing an A level and you already have the required maths and english grades, I'd advise you to do something like human biology as it will give you a leg up on the course, the sociology I did was not that relevant (and not that interesting )

You can always ask people here to help with your personal statement - just like your tutors, you can take the advice you are offered or not - it's your personal statement. I've gone through quite a lot of them for people...

Thanks for all that. I've contacted the college direct and been advised that study in the last 5 years would be a good idea. Also that care experience isn't always necessary so am now a bit confused. I think i will try to do both to get my application as good as possible.
Thanks for the advice - sometimes think i'm going a bit mad thinking about it all the time and getting frustrated as i want to get on with it before i hit the big
4 + 0!!!!?
