Default 'Miracle' caused by epidural

http://www.scienceandsensibility.org/?p=903

There was a post on here about a miracle on Xmas eve or day (woman had cardiac arrest but both mum and baby survived) - looks like her heart didn't just stop beating for no reason

Can't remember the thread to link them

Blimey, have you read all the comments, there's a huge battle of contention over whether homebirths or hospital births are safer, with some seemingly ignorant and troll like doctor who it seems, thinks homebirth and midwifery is dangerous and that the only safe place for women to give birth is a highly medicalised hospital setting. She seems vile!

Thanks iolaus, very interesting article my eyes were wet while i was reading it, poor family i can't imagine what they have went trough. Thank goodness she and the baby didn't died. I hate hate intervention, they should have waited for a while before inducing her, and even considering that it's was her 3th child they shouldn't have gave her any pitocin at all, it's all wrong!

I won't read the comments I feel angry just hearing you talk about them - I read the article though - Shocking!

I've said it before and I'll say it again If I lived in america you could not pay me to go near a hospital or a OB-GYN (!) - no how, no way!

I have a friend who has moved to LA and I keep telling her that if/when she has children she has to come back home for the births and have proper midwifery care. (Not that I'm saying you can't get that in LA).

The USA seems (from things I have seen and read) very medicalised and pregnant women can be subjected to unnecessary interventions and medical procedures. What a shocking story x

I did not even know there were still such people as midwives until after I had three babies. Most women hear just want to listen to there doctor and there doctors for the most part dont want a thing to do with midwives.
