Hi All,

Thanks to all that took part in the quiz this month – we had 45 entries which I’m sure must be one of our biggest totals ever, you bunch of lovely brain boxes! That included loads of people trying the quiz for the first time, and loads of others joined us in the learning zone just for a bit of fun.

First of all, thanks to the team - the Elsevier for sponsoring us with the prizes - £180 of midwifery books! and to Mkunga for hosting the quiz this month, and to Butterfly for help with the questions and a whole team effort for marking and sorting out behind the scenes, you gals are great!
Some highlights this month were many of you clever peeps informing me about the use of syntocinon rather than syntometrine for 3rd stage in asthmatic women. I learn something every day! And the massive amounts of knowledge everyone has regarding the multidisciplinary team, especially the role of physiotherapists, genetics counsellors and dieticians who were all featured heavily. Well done everyone!

Well, another drum roll in order…………………dadadadadadada………………..

And we again have a tie for first place this month going to:

Scallywagand redpiggy with a tie of 27 points out of a possible 33 marks.

As we did last month we will combine 1st and 2nd prize giving you a total of £75 of books each from the lovely folks at Elsevier. Brillopants! Each of you will get a lovely SMNET quiz trophy to wear proudly on your statuses.



Close behind in 3rd place with 26 points were three joint places! Going to mietziecats, peanut 2 and Fay who share £30 of Elsevier books, giving them a lovely £10 books supply each. Yum Yum.


Just out of the prizes range were millieMidwife with 25 and ½ points, and lbater with 25 points! so close!

Growlie will be in touch with the winners over the next few days to make arrangements for your prizes - but well done to all who had a go - our next quiz will be on Thursday 4th March – Topic to be confirmed shortly!

We're met to use syntocinon instead of syntometrine for asthmatic women???? Must go and look that one up when I next go back, all I was aware of was reactions with Entonox ad NSAIDs

Hey Iolaus, I didn't know about this either! Please let me know if it's true or not as it appeared in quite a few quiz answers, and I presumed it must be true. Look at this, proper team working to find the answers.
