1. What is checked at an antenatal appointment
-urine
-BP
- Fundal Height/growth of baby

2. What maternal issues are checked at a postnatal appointment
-maternal general wellbeing (how she's feeling/coping)

8. What screening tests are offered to a pregnant woman?

Blood for grouping and haemoglobin, rhesus & antibody testing, syphilis, hep B, HIV, rubella immunity, Sickle Cell and thalasaemia, downs testin

9. You go to complete a postnatal baby check on the ward and see the baby is blue in the cot what do you do?

a. Ask loudly for assistance
b. Try to resuscitate the baby
c. Run for help
c. Pull the emergency buzzer

10. You are struggling to complete your assignment and feel lost, what do you do?

Talk to tutor, uni staff, come on SMNET, request extension, mitigating circumstances form.

11. You are ill and cant make it in for your shift who do you do?

Call the ward to advise mentor/ward sister and notify uni.

Thanx Tallpoppy. Although I missed quite a lot out reading the answers has definitely given me food for thought and more understanding than I started with. I really enjoyed the quiz and a great way to learn in a fun environment. Everybody was great and I for one will be back for more. Well done ladies. keep up the good work. Lots of loveage xxxxxxxx

mmm, missed quiz last night, so this point might have been debated already, so excuses.....but shouldn't the answer to no. 9 be 'pull the buzzer' first????
