Default PMC form

I have been advised by a tutor to submit a PMC form as I failed by clinical skills exam, I have had an awful lot going on at home which she is aware of and she has been very supportive.

My question is, has anyone else had to submit one of these, and did it help in any way?

My tutor said it would be the difference between me being able to stay on the course, I am worried sick that if they don't accept my reasons/form then I am going to be told I can't carry on and complete the course

Thanks for listening.

I had to put one in when I split with my husband it was a horrendous time and its purpose is to let the tutors know that you have alot going on and are not firing on all cylinders. They will understand, its really just officiailising what you have already told your tutors about, so its nothing to worry about. If you want a hand with the form PM me.

And yes they do help as they are officially informed of your 'mitigating circumstances'.

Try not to worry, Im sure it will be ok

Big hug xx

Never had to do one, but a few of the girls at ours do one every year (even for sneaky hols) so I'm sure you will be fine, good luck to you, its difficult isn't it? You start the course then next thing your assessed on the skills that some midwives haven't even perfected, or that are subjective just seems so unfair at times xx

Thanks TallPoppy,

So far I have only printed out the form and the guidance notes, I need to sit down and read them through before I do anything else, make sure I get it right.

The tutor also advised me to visit my gp, that will be a shock to him as I haven't been since 2005

If I need any advice I will pm.

Thanks again, Pauline x

I never thought I would have to do one, and was shocked when I ws advised to fill one in today.

I appreciate the advice though, and know that the tutor was only helping me, it just shocked me a bit lol.

I agree it is really hard, and the last 12 weeks or so have been so demanding, I knew it would be like that, but it is still very stressful nonetheless.

I have worked out a plan that will hopefully help with the assignments I have to do for submission in January, I just hope it works now.

Pauline xx
