Default Great placement so far....

I started back on the post natal ward on Weds, and have to admit I wasn't looking forward to it.

But, the last 3 days have been great, I have worked with 3 different midwives, but I feel I have learnt a lot, and been able to provide care for mum's and babies so much more than I thought I would be able to. Baby's top to toe, temp and help with breast and artificial feeding etc.

I have taken care of one lady pretty much all shift today, under the guidance of my midwife, and it has been so good to feel so useful.

I am shattered , but really happy too.

Well Done you!!

I remember just after I had my baby girl, there was a student midwife who looked after us. She was wonderful! It never occured to me at that point that the things I was asking she may well not have known . . you just assume they know Evvverything!!!
In hindsight - I hope we were able to help her in some small way!!

Thank you Cathryn,

I like it when Mum's feel comfortable asking me questions, it proves to me that I am doing something right and that they feel they can approach me. If I don't know the answer to what they ask, then I am honest and tell them that, but also say I will find out and go back and tell them, which I do.

That way, they get the answer, and I learn something else.
