Default Panic!!!

Hi There

I have just been reading a few websites about jobs... I know there is the big issue of staff shortage however there are some people who finished studying over 9 months ago and still cannot get a job as a midwife!

Really worried that after 3 years working towards something to be really let down!!!

Whats everyone thoughts?

Well obviously the situation is a bit dire at the moment, but don't let it put you off, increasingly there are more jobs coming up, that said I myself am struggling to get one at the mo, as there are others who are already qualified thus they (and rightly so) are considered before me.
This happens year in year out, speak to midwives who qualified 20/10/5 years ago and they will tell you they too struggled to get a job when they qualified.
Its just same old NHS xx

I too have had this worry but have decided first to worry about qualifying, then to worry about getting a job. There are always ups and downs with the NHS, in 3 years time the situation may be different.

Plus, I do believe the government have promised to create more jobs for midwives in 3 years time. (and they never go back on their word do they? lol)

I quite often have doubts, am I good enough, can I do this, how am I going to make ends meet financially etc.

But at the moment I am taking one day at a time, one thing at a time and seeing how things work out.

With regards to jobs, I am not worrying about that yet as I have too much else to think about.

Hopefully by the time I qualify things will be different...I can but hope!!!!

I do worry about this but women will still have babies and need midwives so I will be useful sometime. I hope things will change by the time we hopefully qualify.

If there are really no jobs I might consider emigrating. Not brilliant but I need to secure my family's future.
