Default Do you ever want your life back?

Is it just me, or do you ever wish you could have your life back before you started the course I mean?

Sometimes I long to go out of a morning, do a days work, come home and be able to relax and not have to read this, learn that, revise for an exam, write an assignment etc.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't change what I am doing, just sometimes the 'old' days seem to be so inviting. Just wondered if I am the only one....or am I losing the plot finally?

I am glad I am not the only one to feel like this, I don't think it helps when you have so much to do, with very little time, and all the usual ups and downs of family life to fit in around it.

Thanks J ™ xx

I worry about this all the time. My life is full on now and I can't do things that I would like, like crafting to relax. I suppose ultimately it is only three years and it will be worth it in the end!!

I think the key is to be organised, get lots of rest when you can and make time for the things you enjoy as you still need to do them, you need to do something other than midwifery sometimes, thats why this site is good its a midwifery site and if you feel like learning then you can but if you feel like some down time and just hang out and chat its got that too.....

Errrm organised....what's that??? A skill I need to learn and quick me thinks.

I seem to be drowning under everything that has to be done for this week, and feeling like I am never going to hit the deadline.

I have made a start on my reflection, and tied up the annoying loose ends on my assignment (which I thought was already finished agghhh) but have done no revision at all for a test I have on Weds.

Oh well, never mind, I can only do so much.

Me tooooooo - I really miss being able to just meet my friends for lunch followed by a mooch around the shops - now I'm lucky if I get a chat on the phone with them every couple of weeks. I really hope life slows down a little once I'm qualified, but all the qualified's seem to think you are still just as busy!

I get frustrated atm because my mentor expects me to work long days and nights with her. What she fails to realise is that I have 3 young kids and essays/presentations to be getting on with too. Don't get me wrong I don't mind doing what I need to and do my hours, but my uni doesn't actually require us to do long days or nights at this point.. how the hell can anyone get anything done when doing 14.5 hour shifts? My mentor has no kids, and her life seems to be work, work work, that's not what I want.

No its difficult isn't it? Our uni is constantly telling us not to work the long shifts, yet when your also in uni (which is always on the day your mentor is working!) and you have loads of homework to do its all quite impossible at times isn't it?
I prefer the long days then I only do 2 and have 2 study days at home and one day in uni. It wrks better for me for childcare in the mornings, otherwise I'd have to beg favours for 4 days instead of 2, or I'd have to do all weekends-which I end up doing quite alot of!!
I have no regrets on doing the course, but when I look at my bank balance, and my house that needs things doing to it, and you aint got the time or money to do it, then yes I get extremely frustrated.
But I'm almost there now, and am looking forward to not studying!! But there again I've just signed up at my local college to do a short mental health course lol, so perhaps I've got the bug, or am a glutton for punishment xx
