Default Holidays

Hi there to all

I was just thinking about training and how exciting its all going to be and also how tough. So on that note, us students will be needing a holiday to take time out and relax. BUT how many of you actually take a holiday and relax? When does your uni offer holidays and what do you do in them? I'm interested to know because this course is very different to normal uni courses, which are based on partying

Partying? yes, not for us!

We get Easter, Summer and Christmas, with reading weeks too. So hols are there, but not all of us get to go away. (2 weeks, 4 weeks, 2 weeks)

We're off to Disneyland Paris in the summer, courtesy of Grandma (as we can't afford it) otherwise we have family days out and blow the budget!!

We will definately be taking a well-earned trip off somewhere in 2011!!

No, it isn't is it? why on earth would I want a holiday anyway, all that sun, sea, no assignments, no placements, no books, journals.

Ahhh, well it will be well-earned

We get 2 weeks at xmas.. With a reading week attached so 3 weeks really...

2 weeks at easter...

3 'offical' weeks at summer.. and if we've had no time off in the year we also have our 3 weeks flexi time as holiday.. So can be up to 6 weeks...

and then we have a couple of reading weeks through the year too

I usually book a last minute thing in the summer... and am booked to go away on xmas day n over new year with the family this years!

Plenty of holidays in the diary, but when they arrive, I seem to spend them all catching up - be it essays, hours in clinical practice or Ironing and housework - wouldn't say I have actually had a holiday at home, let alone away since I started my access course.

Although I have been camping a few times, but with so many of us, that is fun but deffo not a holiday - especially when having to do the washing afterwards...lol

But this year i am having a 2 night break in May to the seaside (before I qualify), a weeks hols in the Highlands in Sept, and my 4 weeks in Canada in Sept/Oct (both after I qualify). I plan on making up for lost time!

We get 2 weeks at christmas + 2 weeks R&A (reading and assessment i.e. at home) 2 weeks at easter (in years 1-3 we got 2 more R&A weeks then too) then we get 12 weeks off at the summer, I'm like a child off school, get bored and itchy feet to go back, but its lovely to have a good old catch up with all your friends and family, I usually buy xmas pressies in the summerhols and completely spring clean the house, and play with my little girl. (I'm brain dead when I go back) x
