Default Influence of moving to the UK on maternal health behaviours!

Nursing Times (22-28th April) published a little (very small) section on the influence moving to the UK has on maternal health behaviours;

After women immigrate to the UK, their maternal health behaviours worsen as their length of residency increases, according to a study on BMJ Online. The longer they live in the UK, the more likely they are to smoke during pregnancy or give up breastfeeding early. (www.bmj.com)

The conclusion on the bmj website states;

Conclusion
After immigration, maternal health behaviours worsen with length of residency in the UK. Health professionals should not underestimate women’s likelihood of engaging in risky health behaviours because of their ethnicity. (www.bmj.com)

What does everyone think? Anyone agree or disagree?

Be warned, it's extremely long!
