Thanks so much smwife for the link. I have watched some of it and will watch the rest later. I saw the beautiful home water birth. It was fantasic the little that we actually saw. The woman seemed so much in control.

Glad you guys liked it!

I thought it was well done and have finally watched to the end.

It is an honest account of childbirth in modern times and I like the mix of views and opinions. And the disparity between normality in birth and the medicalisation that is all too prevalent today.

Great scenes of normal birth too.

Pitocin I assume is the USA equivalent to syntocinon?

Off to look it up

Brilliant... Thoroughly enjoyed it, the different views and attitudes towards MW and OB/GYN was really interesting!

I cried most of the way through it... Was very fragile last night but was great to watch!

I jus can't believe that the statistics are sooo high in America its shocking. Its not that bad over here in England.
Anyways this is a discussion people we're meant to be discussing things like elective cesarean, choices for women, changes in Midwifery/maternity care or lack of it etc.
Come on people this is a discussion forum

You start then limz, what's your opinion on all that you've mentioned?
Tis always good to have a starting point! Maybe people will all chip in with their own views then.

Just re-read my message and I sound quite bossy! Sorry Limz, hope I haven't offended you!! Didn't mean it to sound the way it does!
