| Has anyone read 'Midwifery, Best Practice 2?' I just got it yesterday and I was sat reading it last night when I came across the grandma's gynaecology. It is very funny and well worth a read. It's about a midwife who came across her Grandma's book called 'The works of aristotle, in four parts'. The book was first published in 1808 and I guess it was kinda there take of Mayes for mums and midwives. The funny things about it are things like how to tell if a woman is pregnant, she may 'sour belching!!!', or if you want a 'sure fire test' store a bottle of the womans urine in a glass bottle for 3 days, then strain it through some linen; if she IS pregnant there will be 'small living creatures' in it I dread to think what these small living creatures are! Any pregnant woman about who fancy letting us save her pee??? Honestly though, I found it funny, but I also found it interesting to look at how things have changed and how some of the beliefs are still the same
