| IOL for previous section... 1mg prostin x2.. ARM... NO syntocinon! Continuous monitoring before and after each prostin n ARM... And then continuous monitoring when in labour.... If prostin and ARM fail --> section...

| I had a section with my first. Went overdue with my subsequent 2 pregnancies and was told they did not want to induce. Thankfully I only went 1 week over as I knew what they were saying was that they would want to section me. I have worked brefly in the trust where I had mine, although not witnessd it, I believe prostin and ARM would be the way to go, no synto. But I reckon most would end up as a section on that unit anyway. |

| Tbh, don't know what the protocol is for my trust ![]() I would imagine that syntocinon infusion is contraindicated though, for fear of causing uterine rupture. I'll have a look when I go back in. Terrible with protocols, I cannot learn them all, there are loads and am working through them slowly!!
