Default What happens when you're ill?

Oh I have had a horrible few weeks of recurrent cold. Just couldn't shift it. I'm feeling much better now though. However, it got me thinking. We all know attendence is extremly important in this course and missing uni or placements can have a huge effect. We all get ill from time to time. So when your ill what do you do and how do you manage it?

Hey Kitten, sorry you're not feeling too good

Illness in uni is not too much of a problem, though missing lots is. As you get behind with work and learning (we are allowed 15 days uni sickness in the whole three years)

Placement sickness time has to be made up, whatever hours you miss/have to go home/can't come in/ whatever must be worked in other shift/s.

Stressful!! (as it's often the kids, not me!) People are pretty understanding generally. Long absences though will merit stepping off of the course and rejoining six months later

Yes thats what I thought. It makes sence to crawl into uni when ill but making time up on placement is the best idea. I do agree with the fact thats its the kids who get ill all the time. They pick up everything don't they!

I have two aswell, a boy and a girl 4 and 8!

So far we have had chickpox in the first two weeks of uni and whilst moving (typical) migraines, concussion, bad colds and a fight. I ahve never had time off yet for me!!

Bonkers eh? Hope you manage it without too much stress!

We have to make up all the time we have off, be it in uni or placement. We aren't allowed any sickness time at uni.
