She will be hun, she will be with you every step of the way.

One of my problems is that I don't want to seem too pushy, and try to do things too soon, and have my mentor think I am a 'know it all' if that makes sense, so instead I hold back too much I think when really I could be doing more, especialy routine stuff. But I guess it will all come right in time.

I watch some of the other students and they are doing all kinds of things I have never done, and I feel useless then, but have to tell myself that they have been on the unit more than I have and that is why, small consolation though lol.

yeah, I am the same, and in first year it is hard as you want to get on with things so much

I don't want to be pushy either, I was thinking I wanted to do more and when we did my learning contract we discussed this and so am now doing alot more, as she brought up all of things I wanted to start doing more of! So if she isn't forthcoming and you feel ready, I guess this is a good way of doing things.

Your time will come and very soon! I felt exactly the same way, hun

It is hard, it is finding that balance between being too pushy, and not holding back too much.

My mentor has said she wants me to go and do the things I know I can do next time I am there, so I guess that is my starting point. It is just having the confidence to take that next step I suppose.

Thanks, I am sure it will, I am just impatient.

See that's good, she knows you can do things, so take her lead, that's what I do even if I work with different midwives (three different ones last night! )

you're on the way, mrs!

woohooo

Yes, it is a strange feeling to know you are being watched so closely, even when you know it is happening lol.

It is in my interim learning agreement, so I have to do it, but I really want to push myself anyway, and see just what I am capable of.

Yay, lol I am, lil ole me ha ha.
