So where on the baby's body do you administer the Vitamin K? I would feel so scared doing that to a little newborn!

We give Vtamin K most usually intramuscularly into the thigh (or quadroceps muscle)

Some have oral drops, but these are few and far between. We give Vit K within minutes of babies birth usually.

Smudged I think baby is too shocked at being in the big wide world to notice too much tbh.

I am practised in giving injections now, shame they are on myself hahaha

Has anyone given steroid injection to mum yet? Now that is a painful one

No, but I have given a Zolodex injection at Gynae clinic, and that needle is so thick.

I have not heard about the vit k thing. I knew were are not able to give it with out being watched. I not sure what it is like at other trusts but we used to give alot of vit k on our own as students and a couple of months ago this has been addressed and we now have to be supervised. Could that be what they mean? Or can you not give it at all?

We're still allowed to give it...or we were a few weeks ago. Haven't heard otherwise though.
