General placements

tracyb, that is such a shame that you have experienced those attitudes.
I am on my gynae placement, and I have to say, I think the nurses and HCA's are all fabulous, they have been genuinely lovely, and I know that previous student midwives in this ward have been known to have enjoyed this placement too.
The only negativity I have ever experienced was from my mentor on DS, a nurse first midwife, who see's direct entry as backwards. Wasn't much of a problem to me really, she expressed her opinion and left it at that, she just liked to think she could do what she wanted when she wanted, such as turn up for every shift half an hour late... but that's another thread ..lol.
