I have a question for those that travel 1 hour + each day for uni or placement,

How do you cope financially with the rising fuel rate? do you get travel allowance for travelling to placement or uni or both?

travel gets reimbursed on placement if you have to travel further to get there than you normally would to get to uni
after filling in a claim form and it getting processed, the money comes in your next months bursary

I'm an hour from childminders to uni, but only 10 mins to work.
So dont get any financial help, it is financially hard with the cost of petrol, but somehow you make it work

It takes me about 40mins to uni and 50mins to placement, i hate having to travel for this amount of time so i do feel for people who are further away, its a real hassle!

It takes me 45 mins in the rush hour to get to uni, and less for shifts (25 mins) to the hospital as it is next door to the uni. however the placement I am on now is 45 mins away. I can now verify that it takes 35 mins at 4am!! I travel by car.
