Hmmm... Don't think I'll be encouraging my ladies to buy stores of bottled water to bathe in just yet!

Quite an alarming report - but almost akin to scare mongering - do they really think pregnant ladies need more to worry about? What other option do people have realistically?!

I agree, what other option do women have? It would cost a small fortune to use bottled water for everything, and it isn't practial either.

These findings are very scary but we can't do anything without it causing one disease or another. I feel for anyone who is pregnant and read this as it will scare them. Do people think they will be advising their patients not to drink tap water or ignore the report as it's impractical?

I work in the Fetal Medicine Dept where we see the brain/heart/facial defects that they are talking about. The parents we see are anxious enough and often ask is it anything we've/I've done. This is just going to add to their worries.

It's hard enough for most of them to cope with the diagnosis of a birth defect, let alone having to worry, probably unnecessarily, about whether the water they are or have been drinking has caused the defect.
