Default feeling the womb

How early on pregnancy can the womb/uterus be felt?
My friend is 6 weeks pregnant and thought she had a water infection the dr felt her to stomach to ask where it was hurting and she said he said he could feel her uterus?? I was told when I was 18 weeks pregnant with my youngest that you have to be 12+ weeks before anything can be felt due to everything be so low down in the pelvis.. is this true??

Maybe it's twins!?!

It would be unusual to feel a non multiple bump that early - but someone experienced would be able to feel it fairly early on - especially if she is slim?

Did he give her an internal at the same time? Only then it can be felt earlier too...

Keep us posted though about number of bub's present!

I don't think she had an internal, she went because she thought she had a water infection so he started pressing on her stomach?!?! I didn't think they did that with a water infection. Thought they just checked your urine. I know she is very early on as she only found out 2 weeks ago hasn't even been booked in with midwife yet.
I just thought it was strange with the gp saying that as like I said before I was told by a midwife that it was at least 12 weeks sometimes later.

When i was 12 weeks, nurse at a&e told me i felt more like 16 weeks, went to see dr who said she couldn't even feel it although i had a good sized bump for then (mustv'e been chocolate even tho i was only a size 10 then!)

I bet that nurse had never felt a pregnant tummy before and just wanted a prod!

Let us know if there is more than one! x
